My Valentine's Day trip to Baguio

I've been going to Baguio since I was a kid. My grandparents go there once a year, usually on Holy Week. This year my husband and I decided to go on Valentine's weekend.

We took NLEX, SCTEX then TPLEX, travel time from Balintawak to Pangasinan was 3 hours. One thing I miss taking the National Highway was the stop overs to buy Nilagang Mais, Pakwan and other food from the vendors along the highway.

First stop for lunch, 50's Dinner at Upper Gen. Luna Rd. I heard so much about this place. Luckily seats were available. For Php 150, food was okay and serving was big.

After lunch we went to Mine's View Park. You'll find souvenir shirts, keychains, flowering plants, and other pasalubongs here. Next stop is the Wright Park which is right across The Mansion (official summer residence of the Philippine President). Here you'll find the stable where you can rent a horse, Php 200 for 30 minutes.

Our second day was spent at La Trinidad Trading Post. Vegetables are so cheap here! Iceberg lettuce are only 20/kg. This is where you should go to get fresh strawberries!

Our afternoon was spent at Burnharm Park. You can go boat riding at the lagoon or rent a bike to go around the park. February is when they celebrate Panagbenga or the Flower Festival. Entries for the flower competition are currently on display.

This is the 5th entry, flowers in the middle are called Snapdragons. How I wish this would grow here in Manila.

For dinner, we went to Kubo Grill at Legarda Road. I love the little kubo's around the place. There's also a live band playing. We ordered their set menu of Sizzling Sisig, Bulalo, Honey Roasted whole Chicken, Rice and a pitcher of Ice Tea. All this for only Php 750.

How I wish this Baguio City was only an hour away from Manila. I love the cold weather and the walks in the park. See you next year Baguio!!

1 down on my bucket list

I've been wanting to create a blog for sometime now. I just don't know what to write about. It got me thinking, I wouldn't be able to start if I keep on pondering. So, I've decided to write about anything, my love for scrap booking, reading, photography, food, travelling... ANYTHING!! This should get me started.

I believe an introduction is needed...

I'm Elisa, 30, a wife to Noel and a mother to two wonderful girls. I'm a stay at home mom. We have 3 dogs, Sachi (Rottweiler), Yoshi (English Bulldog) & Keiko (Shih Tzu).

Where did PapElle + Beans come from? Papel is the tagalog term for paper. I spelled it as PapElle because Elle is the name of my first child. And Beans? Well, that's what we call our second child.
